This may seem like a silly question to virtually, but i'm lost in this afterwards searching on the forums and on google for so many times, so i'd appreciate any help here to this lost sheep trying to play a modpack.
I can confirm I accept put the modpack (.zip) into %appdata%\roaming\.minecraft\mods.
Normal mods (.jar) files work.
I have tried irresolute the file extension for the modpack .nada files to .jar.
What am i doing incorrect here? Every single mod-installing guide i have found only depicts installing mod jar files, and non modpack zip files.
Of form I accept noticed the file size for modpack isn't quite what I've expected. Practice i accept to download every single mod that a modpack is request for?

A modpack doesnt work the style a modernistic works. It'due south not a mod, its more of a new Minecraft example. I'd have information technology out of your mods folder, then put information technology in .Roaming or .minecraft, or even your desktop.
- Brand certain you have the proper Forge version for your modpack. (If your modpack is 1.7.x, so you should accept the 1.7.10 for Forge.)
- Open the minecraft launcher
- add a new example, select the version (which should be the forge version, not the minecraft version), etc.
- alter the game directory to the accost of your .zip file. (if you lot put the .zip folder on your desktop, it should be something a long the lines of this: C:\[your proper name]\[your name]\Desktop\[.null folder name])
- printing save, and play

It even so doesn't seem to be working. Am i missing something?
I have edited the game directory of the forge launch option to Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft\modpack
I have put in the zip file in the aforementioned directory, and extracted the contents to the same directory.
Forge version is confirmed to exist i.11.2, aforementioned with my modpack.
No optifine and other mods used with this launch option.
Pressing play loads forge normally without the modpack.

You seem to be doing everything correct. Its a impaired question, but are there mods in the 'mods' binder in the .zip file?
Endeavour putting it on your desktop. That way, y'all won't confuse the modpack with anything else. The new game directory accost should be: C:\Users\[your name]\Desktop\modpack. Put the modpack in it. And then exercise the same things. It worked for me..

The modpack that i have downloaded contains an "overrides" folder, a manifest.json, and a modlist.html, and nothing else.
There aren't whatsoever mods within the modpack though
Other modpacks also seem to have the same setup of the "overrides" folder, manifest.json and modlist.html, then I can safely assume at that place's aught wrong with the modpack itself. The trouble is getting information technology to work, though.
Doing information technology in the desktop doesn't work either for me.

Well, there are no mods, then you can't await it to work. I've never heard if overrides, manifest.json, or modlist.html. All the modernistic packs that I've gotten independent a mods, config, saves, and most of the files from your regular modded forge case.
It doesn't seem similar a modernistic pack I've seen before.
what is the modern pack you're using? Permit me try it out.

Well, all the mods I got were from the Technic Launcher. All of them accept a 'mods' folder (just like your regular modded minecraft) that contains all the .jar files for the mods. I would effort to contact the modpack authors, and ask them how to install the modpack.
Meanwhile, there are tons of modpacks in this Modern Pack department of Minecraft Forum. Become bank check around, see if one interests you.
A lot of the modpacks probably crave launchers like Technic, FTB, and others. I would recommend you to get Technic, because it'due south really easy to utilize, and you cant observe tons of modpacks and information technology'southward easy to install play them.
Technic Launcher
If you lot have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

The Overrides, manifest etc. are meant for installers like the twitch app to download - they list the mods to download
Become to the site y'all got the mods from and search for a 'sever file' ... that should have the actual mods

What modpacks are y'all trying to install from the Technic Launcher? From my experience some don't work due to the manner the location the modpack is stored (the URL isn't suitable, I've had this trouble myself).
Otherwise a Technic business relationship should be all that'southward needed really for getting modpacks to run (I ever had Java installed due to doing mods before accessing FTB, Technic and other platforms so don't know if it's a requirement for Technic the aforementioned way modloaders like Forge, Rift, Textile are).
